Money Transaction and changeovers

Some of the years pass by are indistinguishable from those passed by, but 2016 differs from them. We are now at the edge of 2016 and are waiting to invade into 2017. Every year faces many incidents. However, this year 2016 has witnessed many major incidents and thus gained importance to be an historical year.

Especially in Tamil Nadu, the most regretful incident is the demise of our Honorable Chief Minister Selvi J Jayalalithaa on December 5, 2016. It was a big and uncompensated loss to our state, Tamil Nadu as well as the entire Indian National politics.

While considering the year 2016, it has also made big turning points worldwide. There are many to state. One among them to say, as we all know the presidential election was conducted in the United States recently. The overall statistical analysis stated the confirmed the major victory of one of the competing person. However, the survey results were completely ruled out. A notable businessman, American politician and television personality took over the Presidents chair. Donald John Trump is the President-elect of the United States.

The surveys, pollsters, election forecasters almost uniformly missed Donald Trump’s stunning victory. Considering this, we say they are just some time passing materials for the public since their mood, logic, analysis and sensitivity keep on the go.

Peoples thoughts and actions can only be captured by them. It can’t be judged by anyone on a timely basis. One among this is the revolution bought in India. The announcement of demonetization of RS 500 and Rs 1,000 banknotes. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared in television on 8 November, 2016 and declared this demonetization. The Entire nation was alarmed and stuck. Earlier, the demonetization was mistakenly understood by the people saying the higher denominations were a piece of paper from the next day.

But our PM Narendra Modi’s declaration said that the 500 and 1000 rupee note can no longer be used, but its value is still retained. That is, he fixed time for people to exchange the higher denomination rupee into the legal tender notes. However, rumors and wrong information created chaos among people. But the social media and financial advisors helped people to discover the truth and overcome from all the confusions.

The multi millionaires and the black money corrupts were tightened to this situation and didn’t know the proceedings to convert their black into white. However, the lower and middle class public were disturbed, stressed by standing in long queues at ATM’s and bank premises. The Government’s goal was to eradicate black money, stop tax bypassing and promote a cashless economy. Surprisingly, the crowd understood that this decision for our Republic India during this time was substantial and the inconvenience they were paying is worth it.

Indians are strong and intelligent people and are sturdy to face any of this adverse condition with hopes and strong desire to make them favorable. We understood that this setback is good for our National development. Our people day by day are changing to digital. That’s India, our country. Hope we see our entire country digitized very soon.

Wishing you all great health, wealth and prosperity. May all your expectations and goals be fulfilled. I sincerely ask every one of you to help and care for others as much as you can. Happy New Year 2017 wishes to each and every one of you.

Kolam 'A Traditional Drawing'

We Indians have a tradition of drawing, arts on the floor in front of our homes with chalks, rock powder, rice flour etc. This is named as Kolam. Mainly this month, Margazhi (in Tamil) is the month during which ladies perform this artwork in a grand manner (big Kolam in front of their home looking like a carpet). We get up early in the morning before sunrise, clean the floor, sprinkle water, sometimes use cow dung to wax the floor (believed to act as an antiseptic) in the place before drawing Kolam and then have the necessary items for the Kolam ready in hand to start with. It is a belief that the Goddess Laxmi will be pleased at seeing the kolam and shower us with her blessings to bring prosperity to our homes. The kolam design includes motifs, planetary symbols.

It has got many health benefits. We usually sit, stand and do many postures multiple times to finish a Kolam. It is one of the best yoga. This makes the process of blood flow properly in our body and this way of exercise strengthens our body muscles.

As said earlier, practicing kolam before the sunrise gives good effects. Getting up early in the morning and drawing the kolam in the airy place makes us to breathe in a lot of oxygen which is accumulated in the air. It refreshes our body. Also, it refreshes and relaxes our mind. Mainly the young women eagerly wait for the month of Margazhi to showcase their skills and fill the roads with kolam.

There are many varieties of kolam. For Eg., Rangoli –exhibiting the art form with colors, *Dot kolam – this consists of full of dots, you have to successfully join the dots in a definite pattern to finish the kolam

We also draw kolam with rice flour. This rice flour invites ant like insects, birds and other small creatures to our homes and feed them. This is a form of feeling for other living being as mentioned in my previous article. The dots kolam can be performed only if we have a better concentration, thereby creating a focused attention. Also, looking at the dots to join them is an exercise to our eyes for powerful vision. Those who haven't tried it can just do it in any form as you like and you will really like it. It will bring out your creativity and reflect your imagination skills.

Doing this task gives you better thinking, the power to calm down and solve intricate problems. You can take better decisions in difficult times. That’s the reason this artwork is being passed from our granny’s to our moms and from our moms to us -generation wise. Thanks for reading this article.

Go Green

It is after the cyclonic storm Vardah, the Chennaiites have taken the slogan “GO GREEN’ very strongly. The cyclone Vardah has caused a huge damage and heavy loss to Chennai and its outskirts. One among the huge destruction is the uprooted trees. We have lost nearly 10,000 trees in and around Chennai. In order to try compensating for the heavy loss, we have started sapling-plantation campaign across the city.

Trees are spacious home to many birds, animals and a shelter home to human beings. We people sit, chat, walk and spend out leisurely underneath it. Remarkably this Sunday alone we have planted many saplings. School and College students, working professionals, Senior citizens have taken active part and involved themselves completely in planting the saplings to make Chennai once again the Green Carpet.

It is really sad that we have lost many decade-old trees and the lush green look of the city. We all will strive with all our best efforts and sure confidence that through the sapling plantation drives we will once again make our city “Go Green”.

Feeling Yourself, Treat others

How to Understand others feelings and act accordingly?

In order to understand others feelings and act to the situation, all you need to do is first learn to empathize yourself.

Understanding your own feelings, making the right act at the right phase will make easier to do it for others. Through practice and a little approach you can easily understand the feelings and emotions of others. Thereby fixing the situation for your friends, relatives, neighbors or a human being.

When you can understand what someone is feeling, it becomes easier for you to interact with them or empathize them to their need.

You can empathize a person by two ways: * Verbal empathy * Non-verbal empathy

Verbal Empathy: This type is sometime quite difficult. At time, even though you have good feelings towards the other person and wanted to express your empathy to them, you need to first pick up words as symbols to express what you have conceptualized. The words you choose may or may not actually carry out your empathy feeling to that person. Sometimes, the listener may or may not reflect what you actually said and it further removed from what you actually thought.

Non-verbal empathy: This doesn't need words but just express your empathy through your feelings by the way the other person understands and feeling a bit relaxed in their present situation. When there was no words in our olden days, this was followed.

It can be done by, - Sitting by their side, looking into their eyes, showing concerned facial expression, Nodding head while appropriate, Comforting them whenever needed. There are seven basic facial expressions which are said to be Universal in expressing across all cultures. *Joy *Surprise *Contempt *Anger *Disgust *Sadness *Fear

So, first on analyzing your emotions, feelings and overcoming. You can surely recognize others emotions and feelings. Be their strength to overcome their hard times.

Why have we discussed this 'feel for others.' On this busy life, is it necessary to feel for others? understand them? and treat their concern? I personally think it is must. Since we are in a fast paced environment we sometimes lose that perspective of ours. By understanding people and helping them with their concerns in any way makes our own lives positive, happier and thereby healthier - this positiveness said here couldn't be explained but touched by our hearts -it can be in any ways.

Helping others sometimes gives us a kind of pride. To share a incident, when helped a person who slipped in a roadside, gave me an immense pride while a large crowd looked, gazed at me. Not only this, when you help someone you get a connection, a bond and hereby you can bridge with lot many people. When you care, someone definitely cares for you.

Someone here doesn't mean whom you don't know, it can be your kids. Whatever you do today, will be a set moral for them and will repay you tomorrow. Like the same, the famous author Charles Dickens says, "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”

Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple

World’s richest God is Trivandrum’s Sree PadmanabhaswamyTemple with more than 1 lakh crore rupees of worth treasures. This hidden secret was a latest reveal. This temple was the core of world’s attention recently. It is located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the State of Kerala, India. The deity is Lord Vishnu who is leaning on a serpent.
It is one among the 108 sacred Vishnu temples. These 108 shrines of Lord Vishnu are also called as Divya Desams. The Divya Desams are the Vishnu’s holy shrines were Mangalasasanam were done by the Saints-poets. (FYI: Mangalasasanam : reciting prayers to ensure that the holy shrines are happy all the time).
Interesting fact of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Kerala:
The trustee and the committee members appointed to bring open the hidden treasures were able to open all the chambers in the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple, but not one. It is the Seventh door. The entire world is eager to know what is hidden behind the Seventh door of the Sree temple. It is considered by the trustees and highly expert astrologers that this chamber has to unlock itself when a secret chant is spelled. Also it is highly risky, dangerous and scary to unveil it. Because, the steel door of this chamber has two big Cobra portraits on it and doesn’t have any bolt, nuts or latches to open it.
Since the familiarity of this temple has spread widely due to all the above said facts, there are more number of people visiting this temple in recent times. The dress code for women to enter this temple was only sarees, mundu and neriyathu.
However, the recent news is that this temple has permitted women devotees to wear salwar kameez and chudidhar to whorship at the temple. However the other outfits like jeans, tights are not allowed.
This relaxation on the dress code has made the Keralites and especially women from all over the country and outside the country happier. Even though in olden days, women had to enter the temple only with sarees, mundu, neriyathu etc. Amending these customs a little but with decent and dignified dressing brings happiness into the faces of women.
